WHEAT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM LAUNCHED IN JIGAWA STATE BY H.E MALLAM UMAR A. NAMADI, FCA, GOVERNOR OF JIGAWA STATE.
Earlier today, we launched the National Wheat Development Program, a vital federally funded project, which was a significant milestone. We are honored to have partners, stakeholders, and dignitaries join us in this initiative.
This program, which reflects President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, is a perfect fit with our objectives for economic diversification, job development, and poverty alleviation.
Leading the way in agricultural transformation, Jigawa has achieved remarkable success in sesame, rice, and hibiscus production. Our goal is to involve young people in the agricultural value chain and to realize our full agricultural potential.
The Wheat Development Program represents a positive advancement. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Federal Government for choosing Jigawa State and for providing farmers with significant help. More than 42,000 farmers will have their lives changed by this project.
I implore farmers to follow best practices for a bumper crop as we set out on this trip. May Allah grant us prosperity in farming and bountiful harvests for the food security of our country.
The Hadejia Valley Irrigation Project must be completed as soon as possible by the Federal Government; it is essential to our economic development and food security.
We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone in attendance, including the Honorable Minister, members of the National Assembly, the hardworking teams from the federal and state agricultural sectors, and our hardworking wheat farmers. We sincerely appreciate your presence and assistance.
